Man the local game store down here near us still has no idea when the set boosters will be available. The double feature stuff looks like a cute idea, but the rollout sounds a bit rough. Looks like they just color drained the card arts. I get what they were going for here, but I feel like they are trying too hard with card styles. Original Innistrad, Eldritch Moon and it's like did a pretty good job at depiction of the horror of the plane without having 3-4 varieties of the same card. Overall, I think I just may not be a Vampire/Werewolf focused person. Side note, I am still SUPER disappointed they did not errata the old werewolves to use the day/night mechanic. So far the stories have been okay, though. Good lord though, The last one I read, "Episode 3: Forever Hold Your Peace"... Only Sorin would be able to narrate a story through the premise of a stained glass window.😆

Hullbreaker can be a good counter for a lot of decks including Epiphany, but I wish it were slightly less than a 7/8 and 7 mana card so it could be a real threat to extra turns decks, but I completely understand how broken it would be if lower costed/powered. I have been running a homebrew mono black anti-meta deck in Arena for most of last season and this one and it is still sitting at over a 70% win rate. It usually causes extra turns decks to scoop pretty early on, but if the draws aren't great, they can still pop off.
I am just hoping they pull the reigns back more on Elrond decks. I did see that Orzhov control was really strong when Crimson dropped. The double feature draft stuff does seem like a good draft idea. I mean, in reality the cards all synergize so its like drafting double the possibilities. I agree with the concentrated power, too. My friends have a commander booster set league right now. Running Tovolar as my general and I can honestly say he is a beast in sealed if you get the instant transform cards. He is as important to the aggro game as Huntmaster of the Fells was back in original Innistrad. Definitely a few werewolf cards I'm hoping to pull from crimson for the deck.
Our boxes are on their way, so we should be getting them pretty close to the actual release date and then shipping everything out to everyone ASAP. Shipping and supply/production is a complete nightmare right now. We're doing everything we can to be a few steps ahead on our end. The flavor of the set is pretty solid, which I like, but I think there was room for improvement in a few areas. Many of my Arena decks have gone unchanged. I have been working on a vampire deck, but so far it is little more than a fun deck, not quite T1. Basically Rakdos/Immerstrum with just a few additions and changes from CV to have something competitive. There are a lot of strong cards though in the set. I'm starting to see more creative combos and decks in the past day or so which is a good sign. I lost to a Faithbound Judge deck. A three-turn clock to find removal for it is pretty rough. I think draft suffers a bit right now since these recent sets have such concentrated power cards. It is a bit too much of a lottery on your pack openings vs. everyone else's. I'm interested to see how those Double Feature packs draft though. I'm definitely a vampire over werewolf person, just not the sparkly kind, so I am still pretty happy but I would have loved to see more "fangs" to some of them. Zombies seem to be the real winners out of the werewolf and vampire sets. :)
